Welcome to Stubbington Natural Health Clinic, from the Director, Caroline Herbert |
Caroline Herbert (Director Stubbington Natural Health Clinic, Osteopath and Acupuncturist)
A few words about me - how difficult when I spend the majority of my life doing what I really enjoy, and that is asking other people about themselves.
I was born in this area, attended local schools and then went to Surrey University to obtain a BSc(Hons.) in Human Biology. After this I travelled and worked in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia for 3 months. It was here I received my 1st massage on a beach from an elderly Indonesian gentleman carrying a huge book of recommendations from other satisfied customers. Needless to say I enjoyed the massage and felt a significant benefit afterwards. As a consequence when I returned to the UK I signed up for a remedial massage course which was followed by a 5 year Osteopathy course.
I started treating people via home visits but soon established the clinic at 5 Stubbington Lane and began practising there in the early 1980's. Since then the clinic has grown considerably as we now occupy 3, 5 and 7 Stubbington Lane. Although my original intentions were never to grow so big, I am surrounded by so many lovely caring kind practitioners and staff I most certainly do not have any regrets. The clinic I am pleased to say still has a homely happy family feel to it, which I hope will always remain.
In 1992 I obtained my Acupuncture diploma. I find that Osteopathy and Acupuncture compliment each other well to provide a holistic approach to the variety of problems that people present. I enjoy doing both types of treatment equally and consider myself very fortunate having a job where I look forward to going to work and I get great satisfaction from making people better.
My hobbies and interests include walking, flying, theatre, photography, travel, gardening, dance, entertaining and looking after my 1 year old nephew who gives me endless pleasure. I am married to a very supportive husband who not only shares many of my hobbies but is also very supportive with DIY at the clinic. We also have 2 cats who make us laugh regularly with their funny antics.

I have been seeing Caroline for many years now & her advice & guidance, often given during a general chat, has always been spot on & the treatments are brilliant. My mum recently visited & although the treatments were not suitable for her she was given the details of somewhere that could help & is now fighting fit!
Everyone is always so welcoming making the whole experience a relaxing & enjoyable experience, I can't thank you enough.
I write to comment on the treatment I received for my arthritis. The massage etc was very pleasant and soothing at the time, but the acupuncture!
After the latter I no longer get the "electric shock" spasms - so no more grunts or swearing! Also I no linger take any of the NSAIDs nor even the morphine patches prescribed for me.
There are still the aches and soreness but I can cope with these with the help of two paracetamol tablets early in the morning.
My thanks to you for this great improvement - my outlook is now much better.
Just to say thanks for making my Dad better. He is up and about as normal, able to go out and to town.
All the family really appreciate your excellent help as he means so much to us all. Thanks.
