Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese healing art, a physical therapy which supports and strengthens our natural ability to heal and balance ourselves. It works on the whole person, the physical, psychological and emotional.

Idoshiatsu 移動指圧 Is a dynamic form of Shiatsu which is often used remedially. It may help in a wide range of conditions, from chronic pain or specific injuries to more general symptoms of poor health or stress. It is based theoretically on traditional Chinese / Oriental medicine together with influences from recent Western therapies. NO NEEDLES are used.

Shiatsu means finger pressure in Japanese, the practitioner uses touch, massage, comfortable pressure and soft manipulative techniques which adjust the bodies physical structure and balance its energy flow. A deeply relaxing experience, regular treatments may alleviate stress and illness and maintain health and well-being.

“Shiatsu technique refers to the use of fingers and the palm of one’s hand to apply pressure to particular sections on the surface of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body and for maintaining and promoting health. It is also a method contributing to the healing of specific illnesses.” – quote from “The Theory and Practice of Shiatsu” published by the Ministry of Health in Japan in 1957.
